Windows 11 23H2: OneDrive gets New features and settings

Microsoft has released a preview of the Windows 11 update. It shows changes to system settings and alerts. You can test the features with build 25145 on the dev channel. Redmond Dev channel insiders can now upgrade to Windows 11 Preview Build 22145 in order to unlock new features.

One of the most important features of the new version is the ability to manage your OneDrive storage space from within the settings menu (“Accounts”) menu item. Previously, Microsoft 365 subscriptions could be found here. However, Microsoft now offers information on OneDrive standalone subscriptions.

Users who cannot access cloud storage via their Microsoft account, will be able to find another point-of-contact that can be managed using the browser. This can be in addition the OneDrive app and membership. Developers are also adding a warning to users if OneDrive storage runs low. The feature, which is being distributed in waves to developers in the dev channel, should reach average consumers by the fall 2023. It will be available with the Windows 11 23H2 Update.

Microsoft is improving OneDrive settings and optimizing driver support Braille-enabled devices. The Local Administrator Password Solution will also be integrated into the operating system standard. In the official changelog , developers again highlighted the new privacy tools and the larger rollout of the “Suggested Actions” as well as improvements to the tabbed file browser. Some features may be added to the final Windows 11 version before the 23H2 update.
