Xiaomi Starts Android 12 To Its Flagships Earlier Than Google

For the first time, Android 12 is now available in stable mode for Xiaomi users. All beta testers can now update. This is currently only applicable to the Chinese market. However, this could change in the future.

The finished Android 12 updates will be distributed by Xiaomi even before Google – this is what the company announced via Weibo. This is quite surprising, since the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra and Mi 11 Pro should have the ability to update to the final Android 12 version. The slow distribution of updates has been one of the criticisms that Xiaomi has received so far. The company is now moving forward.

The current information states that only Chinese users Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro, Mi 11 Pro or Mi 11 can upgrade to stable Android 12 if they’ve already taken part in the beta testing. This test is done before Android 12 distribution can be made to all users.

The new Android 12 was launched in the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) at the beginning of this week. The stable version of the mobile OS will not be automatically made available to end-users. Google stated that the update would be available for Pixel owners within the next few weeks. Now, Xiaomi is ahead.

The report states that Xiaomi has yet to announce a date for general release of the stable edition. It usually takes several weeks to complete the testing process. Once the software has been tested and adjusted for any major errors, the operating systems is slowly moved into stable channels. Xiaomi is likely to release its modified software in the global versions very soon after the initial tests.
