Following Samsung, Xiaomi has now joined the Google Android12 train. It is supplying the first smartphones running the beta version of its new operating system. The trial version is available to owners of the Xiaomi Mi 11 models.
The “Stable Tester Recruitment” is a type of application phase for Android 12 globally on compatible smartphones. It’s currently starting in the forum of Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi. The beta version of the mobile operating system will be tested on the Xiaomi Mi 11i and Mi 11U models. At this time, it is not clear if additional smartphones will be chosen for the beta.
Android 12 Beta Places Are Limited
The Android 12 beta places are, as usual, very limited. Xiaomi currently estimates that 200 seats will be available per model. If you’re lucky enough to be able to grab one of the beta slots before the official release, it shouldn’t be installed on your main device. Data loss can still occur, even though the stable version is not error-prone.
Samsung, in contrast to Xiaomi has been providing the Android 12 beta and an update to the UI 4 interface for several week. At the moment, only devices belonging to the Samsung Galaxy S21 series are being shipped. Downloads from the South Korean group are possible via the “Members App”, available at the Samsung app store or pre-installed at factory. Android 12’s final version is expected to be released as soon as next week.
