The installation of all 17 levels of the cable-filling tower to launch the Angara family’s launch vehicles has been completed at the Vostochny Cosmodrome, Amur Region. Roscosmos’ press service announced this.
The press release noted that the rocket complex was under construction when the components for the largest structure were installed.
Special geodetic instruments were used for aligning the levels vertically and horizontally. All components of the tower have been arranged perfectly – any error is unacceptable. Parallel installation of technology equipment was done during the installation. In total, 19 modern technological systems including filling equipment will be installed on the tower.
The cable-filling tower at Vostochny cosmodrome for Angara rockets is designed to house equipment and communications systems as well as assemblies and assembly of the launch complex. It also provides wind retention for the carrier on the launchpad and access for Roscosmos specialists for its service areas. The tower’s height is 66m and its weight is approximately three thousand tons.
