Drom.ru journalists were able to read a portion of the terms and conditions for the Kama-2 electric vehicle. Kama electric cars are projects supported by KamAZ and KamAZ is a technological partner at the Moskvich automobile factory. It is possible that the Kama-2 project will be on the conveyor ” Moskvich” if it is successful. What will this car look like?

“Kama-2”, as the name suggests, will get front-wheel drive. According to documents, there is no plan to make an all-wheel-drive car. The traction battery will be located within the base. This will reduce the center of gravity, improve handling, and increase the interior space. Although the capacity of the traction batteries is 70 kWh, it is clear that there will be many options that have a shorter range and a greater power output (should be between 300 and 500 km).
The suspension’s architecture and configuration is as follows: McPherson beams at the rear and McPherson-struts at front. Front A-arms and disc brakes will also be installed. The rear overhang will have a spare wheel.
The serial Kama-2 will have dimensions that are noticeably larger than the conceptual model. It will increase in length from 3400 to 3750mm and its wheelbase from 2100 to 2515mm. The car is class B in terms of width and length, which are equal to 1760 mm and 1615 respectively.
The body will be made of metal, the frame-panel structure has been abandoned due to its low technology. Five doors, similar to the BMW i3 (i.e. without a B-pillar), are also expected. The doors swing open in different directions, and the designer of the design is an Italian company, whose name is still unknown.
Although the parameters have been described in detail, it is still too early to draw any conclusions about the future Kama-2. The concept of an electric vehicle has yet to be finalized, so it is possible that many aspects of its appearance and design will be altered.
