Call of Duty: Vanguard Reveals Alpha Start Date For PS4 And PS5
Call of DutyFans are waiting for announcements this week.Call of Duty: VanguardThis was undoubtedly the most important and exciting announcement in the last few days. However, there have been many follow-up announcements. Confirmation that Treyarch-developed Zombies mode is now availableCall of Duty: VanguardIt was an exciting reveal. It was also well received when 20 multiplayer maps were confirmed at launch. Activision Blizzard has made another announcement.Vanguard: Call of Duty‘s alpha details.
Activision Blizzard confirmed that Call of Duty: Vanguard would have its first official test in less than a week. The Call to Duty: Vanguard alpha will take place from 10:00 AM PT on Aug 27 to 10:00 AM PST on Aug 29. The one major limitation is that the alpha is exclusive to players on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The alpha will not be available for other platforms until a later test. The Call of Duty: Vanguard Alpha will not require a subscription to Plus.
Alpha players will also receive a reward for downloading Vanguard‘s next test. This will be the first chance to experience Call of Duty: Vanguard’s new game, Champion Hill. Champion Hill is a competitive multiplayer mode that allows 8 teams to compete in a round-based round robin. There are “buy rounds” between combat rounds. It adds an extra layer of Counter-Strike-like strategy and action to the standard Call of Duty game. The winning team will outlast all their opponents by defeating them.
The Call of Duty Alpha will have playlists that allow you to play the Champion Hill game mode. These playlists include 2v2 or 3v3. The alpha will likely have matchmaking to form teams, so everyone can play Champion Hill. Activision Blizzard clearly sees potential in this mode to be competitive with other online multiplayer games, perhaps even battle royale titles.
Activision Blizzard has not yet confirmed the size of Call of Duty: Vanguard’s preload. Early evidence suggests it could be quite large. PlayStation Alpha players will discover for themselves when preloads unlock at 3:00 AM PST on August 23.
There is no further information available about future Call of Duty: Vanguard testing, but we do have some evidence. The most important thing is that this alpha test is not the previously-announced PlayStation-exclusive test. Pre-orders will continue to have a PlayStation-only beta period. This means that PC and Xbox Call of Duty users will need to go through two tests before they get the open beta. More information will be available in the coming weeks.
